Are coconut shell candles safe to burn?
Yes, our coconut shell candles are safe to burn if you use care and follow the recommended burn tips on our candle care card. We have done many burn tests to ensure they are safe to burn.
What is coconut apricot wax, and why is it better?
The wax we chose to work with is a proprietary blend using a mix of primarily coconut and apricot waxes with a trace amount of food grade paraffin to help with stability. You can read more about candle wax to see why we chose this wax option.
Do the coconut shells get hot while burning?
As with any candle, the shell may get warm during a long burn. In a 2-3 hour burn it will be minimal warmth, but if you burn for longer periods it may be hot to the touch. It is recommended that no burns are more than 2 hours at a time. We recommend you place your coconut shell candle on a heat safe base when burning.
Can I reuse the coconut shell after the candle is done?
Yes, you can reuse your coconut shell after burning the candle.
Are your fragrances phthalate-free and non-toxic?
Absolutely! Every fragrance is carefully selected based on its ingredients and adherence to clean burning guidelines. Every candle uses oils that are phthalate-free, PROP 65 compliant, vegan, paraben-free, mutagen-free and cruelty-free.
Where are your candles made?
We import empty coconut shell bowls from Vietnam. Our candles are hand-poured in Central, NJ. Other retailers import fully finished candles from other countries – we chose to hand-pour them so we could control every variable and produce the best candle possible.
Do coconut candles smell like coconut?
No, the coconut shells have no odor at all!
Do the shells vary in size or shape?
Yes, ever coconut shell is 100% unique. Some shells might be shorter or wider than others! But, every candle will have at least the amount of ounces noted on the product page.
If you order (2) 10 ounce candles, one may look more filled than the other – but that is just because of the shape!
How do I clean and reuse the coconut shell?
Once the candle is melted. You can place it in the freeze for a short time and then you should be able to easily remove any remnants of wax and wick. Gently wash with warm water and soap and let dry.
