Coconut Bowl Care

Our coconut bowls are 100% natural, which means they need a little extra TLC. Coconut bowls can last for years if you properly care for it. Coconut bowls are best used for snacks, smoothies, fresh fruit, or any dish that is not too hot or too cold. Below are a few tips to increase the time you can enjoy your bowl.

  • Handwash in lukewarm water, never soak your bowl.
  • Never put bowl in the microwave, refrigerator or oven.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Polish with coconut oil after every 10-12 uses.

Every Bowl Is Handcrafted

Due to the natural harvesting of coconuts, every bowl will be 100% unique. Variances in colors, shapes and sizes are normal. KindHive works with artisans in rural communities in Vietnam where coconut shells are recycled instead of going to landfills.

The artists take discarded coconut shells and time the time to handcraft a beautiful bowl that can last for years with proper care. From the husking of the coconut, to the removal of the milk to the carving and polishing, every shell is crafted with their hands.

Once they arrive to the United States, we review each one and check for blemishes or cracks. The best coconut shells go for sale or are turned into coconut candles. The others we use as testers for new ideas and concepts.
